Hey guys. I'm gonna just get straight to the chase, I'm 16 years old, 5'10, 174lbs and I'm getting more and more agitated looking in the mirror everyday. I want to do the hard work to get myself where I want to be but I don't really have a guidance and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a sort of routine to go off? Even simple things like a daily calories intake, I would really appreciate the help and will REP you for your troubles. Thank you

Have a look at the fitness section on the sports forum.

Few people that seem to know what they're doing in there that would gladly give you a hand!

Good luck

I use to be 5.7" at 238 Pounds so i think i could help, I'm now 5.10" and 164 pounds

Here's what i done I cut my caloric intake so i was having 1500 a day.

I wasn't having any takeaways maybe twice a month at maximum

Eat healthy, good use of vegetables and no fried food.

i did cardio exercise, since i live out in the countryside i started walking the back roads, sometimes I'd walk 4 miles a day for a week then take a few days break

I started weight lifting, i bought myself a bench and whenever i felt i wanted to do weights i did so.

Find something that will keep you motivated, for me it was women xD In your case just look at yourself the mirror and realise you want change

That's probably all i can say that's what worked for me! Goodluck with losing the extra pounds bruddah. (It took me at least 14 months!)

I typically do 30 minutes of push ups or squats depending on what I want to workout, but running burns a lot of calories so really the best options would be exercise more and eat healthier.

The way I know of is the fastest way to lose weight is cardio, running sprinting whatever you can do. I recommend a sport like basketball or soccer that you can get into and run a ton without even noticing. Also watching what you eat is super important. Try to give up something you know isn't good for you, like soda or chocolate or both. The biggest key is staying consistent work out daily if you can and always eat with your goal of losing weight in mind.

According to your BMI (body mass index), you're "overweight" for your height and weight by just 0.1. All you need is an exercise routine you can stick to, a healthy diet (but don't go overboard) and a good attitude towards it.

I know it can be rough when you pass by a mirror and don't like your physical appearance but you're just fine for your age. This is from Health Magazine that I found on the Internet, read it over and if you like what you see, go for it. Good luck.

Don't worry about calorie intake. Simply just eat better, some ideas; breakfast- eggs, turkey sausage, any fruits, alittle oatmeal and some nuts. Lunch- Chicken breast is about the leanest, you can eat samon, any read meats with very little fat. Same for dinner, try to get lots of color in your meals, can be like broccoli, brussel sprouts, asparagus. Can have rice with chicken brown or white rice just don't over do it. Try and stay away from Carbs, sugars and salt as much as possible. you can find really healthy protein shakes to help with hunger and same with protein bars. Diet is more important, then just get in the gym and work out. Stick to the basics, bench press, squat and dead lift, So many different types of lifts you can do but the basics are the best. If you really wanna achieve a great physique look up Arnold Schwarzenegger workouts, he was and in my opinion is still the greatest body builder ever. He even made a body building bible.

BMI is never a good way to factor yourself. For example I am 5'11 at 185lbs. By a BMI scale I am at a 25.8 which is overweight but I've had body comp testing for sports and I only have 10% body fat. BMI's don't take muscle into account.
