Hi,
I recently bought a kit to install LED Footwell lights, they come with a control box where you have a remote control and can change the certain LED colour. It also came with a Cigarette lighter power kit to run it..... Heres the problem, it seems when I run it from the cigarette lighter, the cheap USB Cigarette lighter kit doesn't seem to be giving it enough power, or a faulty connection.
The remote control doesn't even work sometimes when connected. So I then tried connecting it to my cars actual USB slot, which works great. Which gives me the conclusion that the LED's work fine. It must be the power?
I can't just keep them plugged into the cars USB slot as they stay on when the car is switched off.
Anyway to hard wire it in? I'm no electrician but can follow instructions! haha
Cheers for looking!

Might need to replace the cigarette lighter fuse, Only thing I can think of especially if it all works fine when connected to the USB rather than the cigarette lighter. You'll be able to pick up a pack of assorted fuses from the likes of Halfords. Relatively easy to change yourself too.

You can hardwire them into the back of the cigarete lighter there a live that goes off when the ignition is off. Bit of a pain to get to as you need to lift the plastic inbetween the seats. Really simple to do though. You can also wire them to the live on the glovebox light where i have mine wired too. But they dont go off asoon as you take the key out. If you need any help drop me a PM.

Do this, go to auto parts store and get:
Add-A-Circuit. Find a fuse slot that will power when the car turns on, and will turn off when car is off.

Then get a cigarette lighter socket extension, cut the male end to reveal 2 wires ( positive and negative ) and wire the positive to the add a circuit, negative to well, any metal. Then plug your led lights end with the cigarette lighter into the extension.
