Sledgehammer did an AMA on Reddit earlier today
One of the questions asked was "Can you talk about supply drops ? Weapon Variants ? Daily/weekly
contracts ?"
Michael Condrey responded with "Yes. All weapon variants and gear variants in Call of Duty: WWII supply drops are cosmetic only, so there are no stat-based variants in play. Were also offering players Collections and Collection Bounties, giving a direct path for our community to earn items through all modes of MP and Headquarters play."

Meh. I could care less about there being supply drops. What I think is that it gives them the chance to be able to add new things into the game so people don't get extremely bored and stop playing the game altogether.
As long as they keep the things COSMETIC, no enhancements to the guns or whatever. Sure, the occasional addition of a weapon is good for the game as long as they keep the gun from being extremely overpowered.
I personally like the supply drops and have never bought the infamous COD Points to get multiple supply drops at a time. Getting 10/30 depot credits on MWR is easily done.

I wonder how long it would be till they add the weapon variants just like it is on COD 4 Remastered/Reimagined.

Yeah I like them because they give a lot of replay value.

This is the same thing they said about Modern Warfare Remastered, that it was only going to be cosmetic stuff. Look at the game now, there are a lot of new weapons and some of the which are far better than the default weapons in the game.

The only one I can think of that's overpowered as hell is the BOS-14. You could shoot someone from four miles away with that gun and you'll kill him in 1 shot on hardcore with a silencer and no deep impact or stopping power on.
If they do add weapons, which I know they will, they'll be superior to the guns you already own so that you're going to buy COD Points to open up a couple of supply drops to try and get the items to unlock it or the pieces or whatever they're gonna call it.
Just a simple way of taking money from impatient people who don't want to earn the depot credits.

Exactly, ever since they dropped the first weapon onto the game I ended up giving up on the game altogether. Once I found out how unbalanced the game is now I think I made the right decision on not playing it.

There's a couple DLC weapons that are overpowered. XM-LAR, BOS14, PKM, and now the new sniper rifle and possibly the new LMG.

The PKM is extremely overpowered, now that I think about it. Picked it up from the ground, sprayed through a building and managed to get two. The new LMG is compact and is easier to run with, has a good rate of fire and isn't as inaccurate as you may think.
Yeah, they make guns overpowered and "good" to get people to desperately buy COD Points to be the first ones to have the guns, lol.

This doesn't surprise me at all, everybody knows how much money supply drops bring in.
Take AW for example, so much money was made just off supply drops on that game.
I don't mind supply drops as long as they up the drop rate of the weapons, and they're not incredibly OP ( ASM1 Speakeasy, BAL Inferno/Obsidian Steed )
Hopefully this game is still good though.
