Here are my thoughts on it. High school does not prepare you for life in my opinion. College does. College is where stuff starts to get interesting. Meeting people, Learning time management, and not having your teacher tell you when something is due. In college, your professor will not tell you when to do something or when it needs to be turned in. or even give you all the information needed to do it. This is expected.

When I was in high school they never talked about credit lines, loans, etc. In college, there are classes you can take to help you with this, or even how to make yourself a resume, do your own taxes and much more. When It comes down to it. High school is a joke compared to the amount of information you will be offered or learn throughout College.

If you are reading this and in High School then I suggest finishing out strong and start looking for resources or helpful people around you in life to get you prepared for college if you plan on going at least. They don't hold your hand through anything. Don't start out doing 15 credit hours either. Unless you are smart. Like really smart and don't work, Or have kids, and have nothing else to do. Or you will suffer lol.

Loans, Taxes, Credit Cards, Banking

"Go talk to you family, friends, co-workers."

Or you could walk into a bank and ask someone who's literal job it is to explain this stuff to you?

High schools shouldn't have curriculum dedicated to this kind of stuff when there are places in pretty much every town called Banks with people who work inside these buildings who have spent a considerable amount of time learning about this stuff so that they can inform the general public on how to do these kinds of things.

High school isn't supposed to prepare you for life in terms of curriculum like 'How to do your taxes', it's meant to prepare you for whatever kind of higher education you want to go into, and if you decide you don't want to go into higher education then it is only there to make sure that you have enough general knowledge to survive, not thrive.

Mock interviews in school are pointless. There are literally thousands of different jobs, thousands of different work places, thousands of different styles of interviews. More formal, less formal, experience required or not, some will just sit you down doing the job and watch how well you perform, others will put you in training right away with quizzes, having a chunk of your timetable dedicated to this would be pointless.

If you never told anyone how to apply for a job, or no one ever told you, what do you think they would do? Sit around all day doing nothing, scratching their head?
No, they would do what their common sense would tell them to do, the right thing to do for the vast majority of places - walk through the door and ask the people who work there how you could go about getting a job there.

It's not rocket science and it certainly doesn't require an entirely set of curriculum to teach people things which their common sense should be telling them anyway.

High School doesnt prepare you for life, if anything college does and that is even debatable.

The only reason i think college would is if you go to another state for college or you live on campus and support yourself financially from a job

College by far is the one thing that will or does prepare you. Just saying. Have you tried it? If not, You would understand.

Did you even read my post? i was saying college prepares you for life, but yet even college is debatable because college does not prepare for all of life's twists and turns. Such as buying a car, buying a house, how to deal with the loss of a loved one, how to change a flat tire. These are just some examples. LMK when you try college. When you do, you'll understand where im coming from.

Already there buddy. Thanks though. a college will teach you about finances, How to buy a car, How to buy a house, Loans, and even some classes about psychological stuff.

What brought my attention to your post is you said even college is debatable. No. That is wrong. If you go to college. And do your shit and everything that you are supposed to do, Then you will learn quickly about everything and how things need to be done. I don't have an occupation as College: Bachelors cs for nothing. I know what I am talking about.

college is very debatable bud. College does not teach you how to buy a car, buy a house, loans or finances. The only finances college teaches is how to not go broke buying alcohol for parties. And im sure you have a bachelors degree because online you can have anything you want! But anyways, college does not teach you about finances. Now if your taking classes specifically for psychology/finances than yes it will. But if you think that's what OP was talking about, then you completely misunderstood his proposal...How can you have a bachelors or trying to obtain one when you cant even understand this?

Ok, First off. I do not have my bachelor's. I am working for it. The second year now. And yes, There are classes that can teach you all of these things. I understand everything he was talking about. I talked about my opinion. Then you came in. I disagreed with some of the things you posted. It's simple.

It is very simple. College can and will teach you how to be an adult. How to live an adult life, be mature, and do things how it should be done. You are acting like I am the one who has not been to college. This is not the case. I am two years in dude. I think I know.

I don't doubt you are in college...maybe we have different standards by state. Or you were taught differently. We are all human. We do things differently. My opinion is different than yours. It is simple really. All I am saying is that college does and will prepare you for life. If you have been or in college, you would agree with me.

Let's not mention I feel insulted that you would say " I am sure you have a bachelor's online" I work my ass off to get the Gpa that I have. If you are going to continue with further insults or sarcastic remarks like a child I will stop replying.
