I think it's a complete waste of money and I contacted my state representative to tell Congress to not allow it.

Also I saw it on the @POTUS account on Twitter and I'm assuming that account isn't used by Trump is it?

As a Latino, I can agree to an extent with some liberals that this extreme measure of keeping people who just want a brighter future than whatever they could find down in Mexico out of the United States, could be deemed "xenophobic" and "racist". The way Trump and his team, during the campaign trail, portrayed Mexicans (and latinos in general since so many Americans consider latinos, no matter where they're from, as Mexicans) as evil people, as rapists and as criminals, I can find it offensive and crude.

Now, as an American citizen, I do agree that illegal immigration IS a problem in the United States. Illegal immigrants come over here to try and find a better life but once they're in the United States, they don't have to pay taxes and their children are immediately born as American citizens. Taxes, even though we all hate paying them, are what help maintain the publicly built roads you and I go through each day of our lives. I will always accept immigration, JUST AS LONG AS IT IS LEGAL. Something should be done about illegal immigration, I don't think "Trump's wall" is the right strategy. I've read they've been bursting into homes and residences, taking people from their homes in the middle of the night and it's not the best strategy but what are they going to do? Ask them to please publicly reveal themselves so they can be deported back to Mexico or whatever country they came from? It's sad seeing children crying as their parents get taken away but all action had a consequence.

Now, the United States can't exactly try to lecture the rest of the world about "this is America. If you aren't American, get outta my country!" seeing as how the United States itself was founded by immigrants, European immigrants, but still immigrants. I don't consider that fact a very concrete way to defend illegal immigration but it still has a point.

I've been an American citizen since I was born, I've never had to go through the more than likely terrible process of acquiring citizenship. But if a person, of any country, wants to receive citizenship in ANY country, they should go through the legal processes that are set up to acquire said citizenship.

I think it'll employ people regardless of its Mexican or Americans building it (work is good for family income), the wall isn't necessarily so bad as people think. I believe all Americans should embrace the concept and take it as monument of pride and defense for our beloved citizens.
