Don't ego lift , lift what you can throw in some earphones and start lifting,
Also tip :use your mind to feel the contraction in the muscle to make sure you are actually using the muscle.

Don't throw the weights on the floor, makes people think you're trying to act tough.
Actually read how the machines are supposed to be used BEFORE you get on them; I'm sure we've all seen those videos of people on exercise machines using the machine EXTREMELY wrong.
It's always good to have a playlist made before going to the gym, music is an excellent motivator to do exercise. Make a playlist or find one on Spotify under "Exercise" or "Workout".

I'm not that type of guy and to be honest there is no instructions on the equipment at the gym I'm going to so will probably ask the staff just kind of embarrassing I find

Tbh mate doesn't matter what you look like or if you do anything wrong in a gym. Most times if people can tell you need help they would probably help you when i first started going to the gym i was skinny and nobody said anything i had help off a lot of people teaching me new things.

Talk to a gym rep first, my first time I was put doing a set workout for 3 weeks lifting minor weights and working on machines and then I went onto free weights
I felt nervous also as I was a slim build until a bigger guy definitely loved the gym, came over showed me some techniques and tricks and I felt comfortable
Everyones there for the same thing, hope you get on well!

Respect the equipment like it was your own: dont throw weights on the floor, use muddy shoes on treadmill etc.
Dont worry about looking like a ****: everyone is normally trying to do their own thing anyway
If you dont know how to use a machine then read nearby instructions or ask (either staff or someone else): Your better off asking and feeling embarrassed than using it wrong and damaging the machine or more importantly yourself.
Bring a small towel with you: most gyms with have small paper towels to wipe down machines but if they dont then you can use your own towel.
Good luck and enjoy yourself

Mind to muscle work is for more advanced/seasoned lifters (mainly used by olympic lifts and body builders).
for someone who is just getting back into it, all you need to worry about is to make sure you're drinking enough water as well as stretching before AND after!
good luck buddy!
