When I was living in Russia and before my grandfather was killed, he was raising me to prepare me to get into the military as soon as I turned 16. My mother didn't want that happening as she flat out said she did not want me becoming like her father; who she saw as just a cold blood murder using the military as his scapegoat. At 13 years old, she moved the family out to America and I believe one of the reasons she did that, was to put an end to it. She did end up stopping me from doing that temporarily, however in doing; specifically the move in general, caused me to hate my own blood family and turn against them. She stopped me from doing that at 16, but in the end she lost her son because of it, and I still ended up becoming like my grandfather mentally and emotionally, with morals just completely null. I was planning on going back over there to finish what was prepared for me when I turned 18, but then, got in a relationship, got engaged and that has calmed me down for the most part, plus, if I leave, my fiance won't know where I'm at or what's happening to me as it's not exactly the same like the US military where there is some form of contact. For all she knows is I could be dead since I'm not contacting her for 3 or so years, then turns out I'm okay and can't go back for another 4 years.

Now, I'm just an alcoholic wannabe memelord who is either sleeping all day or blowing my money in traveling trying to keep myself entertained...

Before I have gotten with my fianc, I was actually getting ready to join whichever branch was on the ground getting all of the action. Sounds dumb to some but that's really what I wanted to do. I wanted to be able to help civilians and follow other orders. But now I have my son here any day and I couldn't even think of not coming home one day

I was thinking about it right after highschool, but since then things have changed, a lot. I would never do it now unless of course there was a draft and was forced.

Being from Northern Ireland we've gave a lot of our men up for King & Country in the great wars, and indeed fighting in other conflicts including in our own country. Recently been looking into the Army Reserve. Would defiantly be interested in the IT side of things though.
