So I have recently upgraded a few parts on my PC (RAM & SSD) and I am still in the market to do some more upgrades.
I was just presented an offer from my friend to buy his CPU.
He is offering: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 84w CPU HD Graphics 4600 for the price of $175
My Current CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1150 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 / [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Now, I have done a bit of research but I have two questions for y'all!
1) Is it worth it to upgrade?
2) Will it work with my Mother Board?
My Mother Board: GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H-A LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard / [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I've seen 4770k's go for $150 on eBay, so if you can get it closer to $150-160, it would be a good buy. $175 is still an alright price for it. It will work in your motherboard, but you won't be able to overclock it.
Whether it's worth it or not depends entirely on what you use your system for.

As 13 said, you wont be able to overclock so you're paying extra for hyperthreading which you probably wont use and a tiny bit of clock speed bump. Not worth it.
I went from a 4460 to a 4790k but I overclocked mine to 4.8Ghz. That's where you'll see the difference IMO.
