I may be of use here, my girlfriend of almost 2 years broke up with me 2 weeks ago out of the blue, saying that she only sees us as "friends"..
The best part is that I have just started college and out of 2000 people she happens to get moved into my form!! There is only like 12 people in a form.. Yeah.
I am almost over the breakup and I'm going to be honest, it is very fckn hard, but if you find ways to distract yourself you will be fine!
- My advice would be to block her from everything (this was hardest for me).
- Hang out with other girls, and guys for that matter
- Enjoy life
Hope all goes well, i'm sorry and here for you bro

Just stay busy with things you like to do to keep your mind off i'm not saying that'll make you forget about that person but it'll help a bit.

Before anything else it takes time, if its one of the first times youve felt like this it can take a while. Maximizing your time in hobbies and hanging out with friends and minimizing the time when youre just kinda sitting around with your thoughts is the key. Do that and you should notice that you barely even think about it anymore, after you get some advice Id even stay away from this post.

To keep this clean. To get over someone more or less dip your fishing pole in the water.
Just don't do it to much or something will bite!
(Best advice ever)

Ethan wrote Not really the one to take advice from on this, but you have many different options.
Some will tell you to move on.
Some will tell you to give it time.
Some will tell you to stick with whatever you're doing.
The fact of the matter is is that all successful relationships are ones in which the couple are best friends. I mean, they may have a best guy friend or a best girl friend but THEY themselves are best friends.
If you do not feel like she or you could become best friends with eachother then I do not think it is worth the time and effort. If you do believe that you can be her friend (in which she also WANTS to be your friend) then I think you should give it some time. Prove to her that you are her friend not because you want to date her, but because you genuinely care for her. Often times this can take months, years even, and the feelings still may never come from her. That is why people will tell you to move on, but if you think that there is a chance you could get to that level of best friends (Im talkin knowing EVERYTHING about her and her knowing EVERYTHING about you) then go for it.
You can't predict the future, but know that love is often times considered an entity that transverses space and time. Essentially, the quantum entanglement behind the feeling of love will lead you the one you are suppose to be with.
For someone that feels like they aren't the type of guy to give advice on this situation, that seems like top notch advice to me! I Couldn't have said it better myself!
P.S. I really like where you said:
