Reports of gunfire on the busiest shopping street in the UK, Oxford Street as well as the Oxford Circus Tube Station.
What's Happened/Happening
British Transport Police were called just before 4.40pm to a 'Customer Incident' within the Oxford Circus Tube Station, this quickly escalated into the Metropolitan Police responding with their Armed Units in high numbers.
Specifics as to what has happened are not yet available, however the Police have confirmed they responded to reports of gunfire both on Oxford Street and Oxford Circus Tube Station.
Armed Units responded as they would to a terrorist incident, however, information is not clear yet so as it stands the Police simply aren't taking any chances and are responding heavily.
People are being evacuated and told to take cover in buildings, get off the streets.
Police have done a sweep of the Tube Station and found no casualties 'yet'. Selfridges has also been placed under Armed Police lockdown, which would likely indicate they are searching for suspects and sweeping through the area.
London Ambulance and London Fire Brigade have also responded to the Incident.
One minor injury has been dealt with, from the stampede created upon the incident occurring.
Calmness has descended on the area whilst the Police continue their investigation into what has actually happened. Suggesting the threat to the public is minimal. No suspect, evidence of gunfire or casualties with gunshot injuries have been located at this time.

Just turned on Sky News and saw this, it's terrible. Hopefully it isn't a terrorist related.

I expect it to be nothing in all honesty. Met police have said at this moment in time there is no evidence of shots fired.

I hope its nothing but as we saw with the Manchester bombing, it took nearly an hour for some media outlets to confirm it was more than just a speaker blow out. If it is just mass panic of a terror attack then I think it says something rather grim about the state of the UK.

To date police have not located any trace of any suspects, evidence of shots fired or causalities. Officers continue to work with colleagues from British Transport Police in the area of Oxford Circus.
Updates will be provided as soon as we have them.
If you are in building stay in a building, if you are on the street in Oxford Street leave the area.
Officers are continuing to search the area.

Transport for London have re-opened Oxford Circus Tube Station.
Police have yet to find any indication of the 'shooting' and no casualties have been reported or found.
The area is expected to re-open upon the completion of the Police's sweep of the imediate area.
