I'm currently going to school for software engineering but I'm stuck working in retail. I'm only in my first year of schooling but want a job based around what im going to school for to be able to get into the field and have some experience and get my foot into a company for the future. I need suggestions from the community from anyone who was in the same shoes as me. What would be a good job to get into that's based around my college major where I don't need at least an associates degree?

I was in your shoes a few months back I too am becoming a Software engineer. I am in my final year and have got work-placement sorted for next January. From experience I think you should work in retail until around summer time. Some people in my class applied around April or March to companies in the area and got and internship for the summer. Some companies will pay and others wont but if money isnt the problem then go for it.

ok sounds good and yeah money isn't a problem I'm just trying to get into the field and start getting some hands on experience for when I start looking for a permanent job and do some free lance work for people. Thank you for the response and advice.
