Focus on your undergrad. I would not suggest trying to get a cert as a way to get into the field. Remember, your degree is not job training.

Begin with an entry-level job and soak up as much knowledge as you can. It should be easy to find these jobs asking for some post-secondary education.

The IT environment is a business environment. Every business needs IT.

If you have the opportunity, the answer is always yes.

Im currently studying in university after doing IT in college for 2 years and this course is now 4 years and i am 2 years into it learning a lot of stuff that i never thought IT would have involved. I kinda wish i went into an apprenticeship to get some real world experience and learn at the same time but these days you can get into just about anything with a degree, even if its not the field you studied it in. So see what happens after its all finished.

People hiring around here are usually looking for degree + some kind of internship/entry level experience. It can depend on the field but getting a degree gives you a lot of options.
