So at my dodge dealership a few people have ordered the dodge demon through us and the first one came in and I decided to fake some pictures. So much power.

Legally we aren't allowed to drive this one, but I got to drive a hellcat a month ago and yes, they're hella fast.

Thanks for sharing. This is the first time that I have ever heard of a "Gas Guzzler Tax". I thought it was a joke at first, then I Googled it, and I was surprised to see that this is a real thing.
From the wiki I learned that this tax was put in place to discourage the production and purchase of fuel-inefficient vehicles. Apparently "cars with a combined fuel economy rating under 22.5 mpg" are subject to this tax.
I could not find anything stating if this tax was a set number or if it is proportional to the price of the car. But if it proportional to the price, then how is $1700 going to discourage someone from buying a car when they are going to spend almost $90000? This seems like it was put in there purely for the government to take our money. If the demon was my dream car and I was going to spend $90000 on it, then 2k is not going to do anything more than make me save a little bit longer.
I also read your other comments. You stated that you are legally not allowed to drive this one. Can you explain that to me and also what state does this law apply to? I would like to know why you were allowed to drive the hellcat but not the demon. Considering that both cars are making over 700hp, a ~125 hp is a relatively small difference. Does the law state that you can not drive dealership vehicle with over a set amount of hp, a set msrp, etc?

More of a dodge dealership type of rule. I'll post our instruction list for it.
