Ethan wrote Bro, I have a mac but would not want it knowing what I know in college now. I had to dual partition my laptop to run windows because in the College of Business at my university they only accept Microsofts operating system.

Now, you can always dual partition it, run a virtual machine, or simply download most applications Microsoft Office offers for mac, but it is a PAIN!

I'm in an Information System class and about 50% of us have Macs and it is so lame! The professor basically told us we are "shit out of luck" and doesn't really offer any help to Mac users.

Just my experience, as I am currently in college studying Healthcare Administration.

Installing Bootcamp so you can run Windows on a Mac is pretty easy. Even my non tech savvy brother managed to do it so he could play a few Windows only games.

My mac doesnt let me use Bootcamp lol like it is permanently messed up. I tried reinstalling Bootcamp but it didnt work.

Go for a 2013/2014 Macbook Air, I got mine for around $450. If you have a little bit more, Macbook Pro Retinas are about $500 for those years. That's new enough that you will be able to run the most recent OSes by Apple for the next few years, at least 4 for college. Plus it won't break the bank while getting a really solid laptop. Macbook Airs are known for lasting forever. I'm a CS major and this is just my personal preferences.

If you can spend the money, a macbook air. Great college laptop, it's what I use for all my assignments and it's very easy and light to bring back and forth. Charges very quickly and keeps its battery life, and one small feature I really enjoy is how quiet the keyboard is compared to my desktop, I can use it for hours in the middle of the night typing an essay(or TTG reply) and won't wake up anyone in my small house.
