That is probably the most ignorant comment I have seen on this forum this year, maybe even of all time.
@Everyone
How the hell is this shooting unintentional. If one or two people were the only people injured then maybe, but at least 5 people were injured. And even then, the question of why the gun was at school in the first place would come up. Too many things have happened for this to just be an accident. If the 12 year old girl never intended on using the gun then why did she have it? Why was the gun at the school.
And considering this is LA, they have pretty strict gun laws, so I really wonder how this happened. I guess we will have to wait and see how this plays out.

It's sad to see nothing has been done to try to prevent these from happening. It's only turned February and loads have been, it's not even surprising anymore. Just another day in america
Hopefully no one was actually killed

What do you suggest doing to prevent school shootings?
Here is one of my other comments asking someone else the same things...
What can you do to prevent school shootings?
I really want to know what you think could be done to prevent school shootings. And please keep in mind that some schools are struggling to even get enough paper for teachers. Specifically schools in Oklahoma. We have pretty bad schools, but great staff. So please keep these measures reasonable. I would like to think that schools would have a major priority over other things since kids like me are the future, but it looks like that is not happening.
We have simple things like school cops in place. But they are not going to prevent a school shooting, they are just hopefully going to put a quick stop to a shooting.
One thing that has come up in the news is arming the teachers, but I do not agree with that, too many things can go wrong. And we have cops at the school.
Our school locks external doors during class time, and the teachers are supposed to lock class doors during class.
I hate to say it, but people can tell when someone is a little sketchy. For example, there was a kid in my class who threatened to shoot the teacher on a school website. Everybody knew there was something off with him, but what could we do? We did not have any proof. I think that the schools could implement mental health checks but if someone wants to pass the check then they can hide how they feel. And besides that, it would cost a lot of money and I'm sure some body would complain that it invades their rights.
I can not think of anything that can be done (that is not already done) to prevent school shootings.
Since you're profile states that you are old enough to have just graduated from high school, you should be able to tell us what you think would be best with your experience in school.
I'm sure that parents fear for their kids, but they do not know how the kids who have to go to school feel. And I truly feel like a majority of our lawmakers do not care about this problem. I do not go to school every day and think that someone is going to shoot up the school, but it always sits in the back of my mind. When I do think about it, it is a really scary thought. Anybody at anytime could shoot up my school and possibly kill me, my friends, the staff, and/or other students. That on its own is kind of scary, but knowing that there is not really anything that I can do about it makes it even scarier.

How is this unintentional? A 12 year old girl brought a gun to school and people got hurt.
