It's difficult to tell what will happen in the future. It really depends on what GPU vendors do and if there is a bubble that pops in the mining prices.

For RIGHT NOW, it can be cheaper to just get a prebuilt system. Considering that Newegg and Amazon want 800 to 1200$ for a single GTX 1070, you can get a prebuilt iBUYPOWER pc with a 1070 for around 1500$.

The main advantage that the prebuilt market has over a custom system rn is bulk pricing. They get RAM and GPUs for cheaper than your average user can buy them for. You will be paying a bit more overall, as usual, but getting the cheaper cost on a GPU can save you a lot.

Yeah it's a toss up depending on what you want/need for your build. But when you start getting into the
nicer video cards, the mark up is nearly double currently so a pre built can be the way to go.

Building is still the best way to go. There was an article stating that if your show the company of the gpu and other parts that it's actually for gaming, they'd give you a discount. How true that is, idk but it is still worth a try.
