Thinking about installing 2 12" JL Audio Thin Line Shallow Mount Subs running off a 1000w alpine amp.
I'll probably swap the current deck in it for a Double Din Pioneer deck, as well as probably replacing both front and rear speakers with Alpine Type R's.

Subs: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Amp: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Pioneer Deck: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Alpine Type R Speakers: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I'm getting a custom sub box created with a port either on both side of the subs or right in the middle

Would this be a good setup?

Yeah dude. If you're looking for bass than two twelves will give you more than enough. You have a better setup with that than I do. Do us a favor and get us a sound clip when it's all hooked up!

You basically have the same setup as me except for the subs.
I got Pioneer dual din radio. Nex-4100. I like it because it seems more Android friendly.

2 Spr-60c alpine type r component speakers and 2 spr-60 alpine type r speakers. Speakers are powered thru a alpine 4 channel amp. I wanna say the amp is 400w rms but i'm not sure.
I love the apline speakers but I still need to fine tune the amp.

Then I got 2 12in Pioneer subs powered by a kicker 1200w max, 600w rms amp. With a sealed custom box under the back seat. (2012 GMC)

I wish I had a video of it but when I took the doors apart, I broke a couple clips and now I have a rattle sound on some songs, so just be careful when taking the doors apart. Luckily the clips are not made on to the door, so I can replace mine but I haven't fixed it yet.
I think you have a good setup going on. I wouldn't mind a video too just too see if I wasted money on putting a amp on the door speakers.

Hell far, Just one of those JL '12's is enough, Those speakers are top of the line, I had one of the JL '10 and I had to keep the bass down because it was too much, But you do what you want bud, Those speakers are really really good subs.

I've got one 12" Kicker subwoofer and planning on getting two 15" subwoofers really soon. I think bass plays an important part in any sound system; you just have to find a good balance between your bass and your speakers. If you've got more bass sounding than actual words coming through the speakers, it might sound weird to you or you may not like it.

Personally, I love more bass than anything. I like it loud.
