Colorado House Minority Leader Patrick Neville, who was a Columbine High School sophomore at the time of the 1999 mass shooting, is pushing legislation that he says would protect students -- by getting rid of gun restrictions in schools.

Under Colorado law, concealed-carry permit holders may bring firearms onto school property, according to The Times, but must keep them locked inside their vehicles.

He added law-abiding citizens should be able "to defend themselves and most importantly our children from the worst-case scenarios."

Neville has contended, according to The Times, that more of his classmates would have survived the attack if faculty had been armed

I agree with it to an extent. I can think of a million different things that can go wrong

I think this is a good idea in theory but will not work out too well.

The main problem that I see happening is the law abiding citizen getting mistaken for the school shooter. This can lead to multiple things like cops shooting them instead of the school shooter. Since he specified faculty, I would say this could be avoiding by requiring faculty to wear a uniform.

I do like that Neville is trying to get rid of gun free zones. Criminals do not care about laws, they are going to do what ever they want to do.

The simplest way to get armed people on school grounds is to have police at the school. I would feel much more comfortable with police at my school rather than trusting my teachers with guns.
