Depends on your current physique.
The perfect sprinting physique would be something like Usian Bolt or Tyson Gay. Extremely lean with a large amount of muscle mass on the legs and a decent amount on the rest of the body. Obviously ignoring the fact that these guys are using PEDs, this is basically the perfect sprinting build.
To get better at sprinting, having a very good muscle mass/fat mass ratio is important and practicing sprinting itself is also important. Height also plays a large factor because of stride distance and what not but there's nothing you can do there besides genetics.

Improve your leg strength a ton, do squats, leg press, all those goodies.
Work on your footwork, ladders are a great way to do that or even working with cones. Go for runs everyday but you have to run at different paces. I used to start with a jog and then full sprint down a straight and then slow myself down back to a jog and then sprint up a hill and slow back down. It increases your stamina but also makes your jump just a bit quicker.
I also recommend doing hills, they're a lot harder but they're great. To see your improvements in the future I would do a 40 now and then later on you can take another 40 to see how much faster you got. As a RB you should also be working on your cuts and other motions.

Short but fast sprints are very useful to do, practicing your acceleration is vital. You want to be able to take off like a rocket instead of a slow rocky start, as this will allow others to catch up with you

What I noticed when I used to play, is you need to use some form of resistance to build up your leg muscles; whether it be lifting weights, resistance bands, or a parachute.
So when you're running without them you should find it a whole lot easier.
Keep training hard, and let us know if it helps,
Best of luck to you G.
