I'm not sure what else I can do, I'll probably just throw it as I have no use for it, I can't seem to fix it

You could always take it into a shop and have them take a look at it for you

I guess but I'm not willing to spend the earth on it, honestly don't think they will be able to fix it unless it goes back to Asus but they'll charge me a bomb

Your only hope now is to go to a Repair Shop(s) get a quote on how much it will cost to fix it/do the same with the company and hopefully your able to find a reasonable price.
