Hi everyone,
Long time reader of the forum, first time posting. I am looking for advice on a PC build that I am currently planning. I have purchased a few components already but need help deciding on other components and advice on the overall quality of the build. I want this to be a great experience for my first build.
This is an RGB build. I want to use this PC for gaming/streaming and some VR experiences. Also to edit DSLR and drone footage and some graphic design.
Any and all advice and critiques welcomed!
Already Purchased Parts:
Case: Lian-Li PC-011 Dynamic in Black ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )
CPU: 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700K 4.7Ghz LGA1151 ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-E ATX ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )
The rest of the parts I have not purchased but these are what I am leaning toward.
Memory: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )
Storage:
SAMSUNG 970 PRO M.2 2280 1TB (for OS and games) ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )
2 x WD Black 4TB Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 128MB Cache 3.5 Inch (For bulk storage) ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) - Friend mentioned that I should have both drives but have 4TB total storage running both in Raid 1. Not 100% sure what that means or how it works. Any thoughts?
GPU: ASUS ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-O11G-GAMING GeForce 11GB OC Edition ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )
Cooling:
1 360 Radiator up top for exhaust - Cosair Hydro Series H150i PRO RGB 360mm Liquid CPU Cooler ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )
3 x Corsair LL120 RGB 120mm Dual Light Loop RGB LED PWM Fan -- 3 Fan Pack with Lighting Node PRO (9 fans total. 3 for radiator exhaust up top, 3 for side intake, 3 for bottom intake) ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) - is 9 fans too much? Any thoughts on configuration of intake/exhaust? Got this from a HardwareCanucks video. Let me know what you guys think.
PSU: Seasonic PRIME Ultra 650W 80+ Titanium ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) - Not sure if 650W is overkill?
