Hey Guys,

This is a new PC build as of a few weeks ago. Up until now I have been connecting to the internet with an ethernet cable, but I want to use a wifi card instead. I ordered one and set it up, but I'm having a lot of trouble connecting to the internet. I plugged the card into the motherboard and attached the antennae, and when I did that the PC automatically turned on and a green light appeared next to the "status" word on the wifi card. When I tried to connect, however, I was not able to. It doesn't even seem like I have a wifi option on my PC. There is no wifi tab in settings when I go to "Network & Internet." When I go into Device Manager, my wifi card does not appear anywhere. Also, when I click "Change adapter options" in the network & internet settings, the only adapter that shows up is my ethernet connection. Given that I don't even see a wifi option and the wifi card is brand new and appears to be functional, my best guess is that this is an issue with Windows and not the card, but I could be wrong.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

Thanks!

My advice for you would be to look for the devices driver as that can play a part in the trouble as Windows doesn't know what it is.

Find the manufacturers site and see if you can locate a driver for the card.

try this:

1.search for Device manager
2. find network
3. find your wirless adapter
4. uinstall.
5. right click on your mouse and search for hardware update.

the wirless adapter will reinstall.

hope this helps you
