Hello all. Was hoping I could get some advice on whether to upgrade my pc or build new. I only play strategy games, mostly total war but I'm eyeing Paradox's new Imperator Rome and I'm wondering if it's time to upgrade. My current build is from 2013.
Windows 10 64 bit
Asus Z87-A motherboard
i5-4670K overclocked to 4.2
Geforce GTX 970
8 GB ram
550 W power supply.

I'm completely lost on the current technology and where to go. I was looking at prices online and my processor is still fairly expensive. Is my system still viable? It plays Total War games fairly well on lower settings. I play at 1920x1080, is there a huge difference in resolution with an upgrade? Thx for any help as I'm pretty lost.

Resolution is the Monitor.

If you only play games like Total War you could potentially upgrade a little but if it does what it needs to then im not sure it would be worth it. Strategy games dont really need to be ran on a great system.

Right but if I wanted to up the resolution to say 1440 I may need a new vid card right? Plus total war is actually really CPU intensive.
