So with the little knowledge I have of computers I have I think I accidently installed a RAT. If I do a system restore and wipe everything that way would I be in the clear? Or is there more to it?

If you wipe the entire drive and reinstall windows you should be fine.

If you completely wipe windows and install a fresh copy onto your drive ( make sure you clear all your partions ) you will be fine. Because most RATs and botnets latch onto files into your windows files so you dont find them and you cant really get rid of them. Just completely fresh start your PC
