I'm willing to bet you're right, I mean honestly 2k a month is more than enough for a single, full time working mother looking to support a single child on her own, that 2k in additional supplemental income would allow her to get by. Not sit on yachts while nannies care for the kid all day.

I say this and was like what the hell. Nobody needs that much a month for a child. Our system in the US is beyond screwed.

My girlfriend being the lawyer she is brought up an interesting point. In the eyes of the law, it's their duty to ensure that the babies lifestyle doesn't change as a result of the parents marriage status. Given that Blakes a superstar, it makes sense legally to award that monetary value per month. To us however it's simply ludicrous.
