Hey TTG I just wanted to ask for advice as I begin my first year of college. I will be going to Caltech which is a very prestigious school with a rather herculean track record regarding academics. Do any of you all here on the site that have attended/ completed college especially a 4 year institution have any tips or advice that you may have found useful when you attended?

I am not in college, but some advice I can give to you is to only worry about yourself.

Try to get your classes early, that way you can get yourself set up with a good schedule. Make sure to avoid early morning classes, especially if you're not a morning person.
Make sure to stay consistent going to class. You can start out strong, then say "hey I deserve a day off" which will make you start having one of those days 2 or 3 times a week.

Good luck!!

Yeah I have already gotten my classes set up and I believe that my earliest class is 10:30 which I'm pretty happy with.

don't fall into the habit of wanting to skip classes, I'm currently at a 2 year school but I've seen almost 80% of my friends go from being B average students in highschool to barely passing and almost getting kicked out of school. Just make sure to not skip and show up on time to classes so if you ever feel like you need help from your professors they'll know you're serious about class about how much you show up and on time. (learned from experience of skipping and or showing up late to every class) also what helped me is making friends in my classes to get studying done. And of course never scheduling a class before 10am so i can get a bit more rest. I wish you the best as you start college!

Thanks for the advice regarding skipping classes that seems to be the general consensus among the members here.
