I am currently on Windows 10 using a ASUS GT51CH mobo. I have been trying to downgrade (as they would call it) to Windows 7 as it is more optimised for the games I play and have downloaded a legal copy of Windows 7 online and I run setup.exe and the installation starts as normal but when my computer restarts to continue installing, it freezes and crashes at the Windows 7 boot logo. I have secure boot disabled and tried both my SSD AND HDD with no luck. Any fix would be great. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, it did seem to fix the crashing issue however it causes a blue screen with an error code I`ll have to check after. At least I am a step forward to fixing now so some hope

Make sure you have the the correct one x86 (32 Bit) x64 (64Bit)
If try download it somewhere else the files might be corrupt with that installer

I am using 64 bit which my computer is. I have also downloaded different copies to see if it was corrupt but all do same. I wonder if they have prevented going to Windows 7 from Windows 10. I will keep looking for solutions anyway.

after changing boot settings in BIOS, it now goes back to the freezing with no error code. I think its UEFI at moment if I remember right and when I change to legacy it gives me that screen with an error code again, I could change back to check the error code then?
