Yes they do stick online, but for how long is completely up to the method in which the dvars were coded to stick. I've been seeing reports on dvars that aren't sticking except for a few, and that leads me to believe they coded it in a format in which the game can only read the first few options in a single parameter, rendering the rest of the infections effectively useless.

Short answer - yes they do, but not all of them stick permanently.
