Yeah it's just what they call impersonating a member of the armed forces. Same way people impersonate police officers. Not nessecarily stealing a specific persons credentials.

Some people would do anything for a veterans discount while risking 5 years in jail :|

It's definitely not worth the risk and your just scum if you would do that for a bit of discount

Stolen Valor doesn't just entail one that wears a Military uniform without earning it, but it could also entail one claiming awards that they haven't earned for monetary gain. Though many of us Veterans would be able to see right through it, there are many civilians that would not.

I myself believe we should be allowed to throat punch those sort of individuals, despite this, however, we can still humiliate them in public (and the guys who run around playing dress-up airsoft) and believe me, we do.

Honestly I think it's very disrespectful, I've seen these YouTube videos before as well I don't know who would do this shit no respect for soldiers that have died in the field or been injured it's a shame that people do this, its sick man!

Yes I saw a video where the real veteran was yelling and saying "I've had friends die in that uniform, you don't deserve to wear something you never worked for." And that's what hit me the hardest.

From watching videos and especially making this topic, I think I fully understand what this whole thing is about and how twisted it actually is.

I am actually in the military (pm me if you would like proof) and seeing people who do it really disgust me and pretty much all of my friends. It's like to claim that you are something that you didn't put in the time, blood, sweat, and tears into just really grinds my gears.
