Maybe I'll stir up a bit of discussion on this one...
E38 740iL, bone stock, 200k+ miles on it. And no, I don't drive it lmao. Got it for $1000 and it runs fine, but I'll be gutting it, relining the interior, new seats, maybe fabricate a dash and center console for it too. I have a separate computer built and connected to two displays, one is a fully digital gauge cluster and the other is the radio. Program running is coded by me so it's not fully tested yet and probably buggy as all hell, but I know it reads and displays OBDII outputs really smoothly. I'll be able to do all the bug fixes and stuff when I get a standalone ECU.
BUT, before then comes engine & tranny swap. Maybe a 6.2 and a 6L80 from a newer Escalade? Maybe just a 5.3 Chevy truck motor, a decent sized turbo and whatever auto tranny that can handle the power? Still debating.
It'll be a long term build tho, planning on painting the entire car myself piece by piece, and if I make a mistake I'll dump some paint thinner on it and try again. In the end I want a reliable ~600+hp boatmobile on some bags lmao
