So I just disassembled two Asus laptops from ~2013, and both of them had what looked like M.2 drives in them. However, upon closer inspection of the pins I realize that they might not be M.2 drives. I am in the process of building a new PC and thought it would be really nice to be able to use these. So my question is: Will I be able to use these drives in the AsRock Z270M Pro4 Motherboard in my new system?

Nope, those are mSATA, not m.2. mSATA and m.2 are not interchangable. If you really want to use them, you can probably buy an adapter of some sort for them I'd imagine.
