Hi my name is justin i am very new to pc building. i recently just built my first PC and i did lots of research before building, thankfully everything turned out okay. i just found out that overclocking was even a thing. i figured if i spend a lot of money i may as well pull out the most performance right? i have zero experience with it but i've watched lots of videos. i followed one video step by step that had similar parts to my pc. after finishing, nothing changed, my cpu was still running at its stock performance. is there a reason why?
my build:
i7 8700k cpu
evga gtx 1070ti sc gpu
rog maximus x hero (wifi-ac) motherboard
kraken x62 cpu cooler
corsair vengeance LPX 16gb (2 x 8gb) DDR4 3000 memory stick
any help is appreciated, i apologize if i sound very dumb.
