Yesterday, I was using my PS4 controller just fine and I used it for about an hour. It wasn't connected to the charging cable and I did get the "Controller battery is low" message but I just turned it off a few moments later because I was bored of playing.

I get up this morning to go turn on the PS4 and the controller won't turn on so I turned on the PS4 manually. The PS4 controller now won't turn on even with the charging cable plugged into it or even after trying to reset it. I used it for literally about an hour yesterday and I wake up to it not even working.

Any help? And no, I don't throw controllers or slam them, this controller is basically brand new. Thanks.

Yeah, the cable works just fine (plugged in my Xbox controller to the charger and it vibrated). The battery is fried.

Question for everyone: Could I get a battery from a broken controller and put it into my controller? Would it work as it should?

I've never tried but I dont see why it wouldn't. I wouldn't expect them to have battery's specifically made for each controller. Let me know if it works, just in case it happens to me down the road.
