I am having a hard time deciding which one is better.

Depends on what you value more.

This is how I would work it and and value it.

Samsung:
3840 x 1080
144Hz
HDR
Stupidly Ultrawide like seriously IMO.
FreeSynce (AMD)

Acer:
3440 x 1440 (technically higher res on height)
100hz
No HDR
G-Sync (NVidia)
Not as wide but reasonable IMO

My option of the two would be the Acer. That Samsung is just stupidly wide and the height disadvantage could become a problem. Not to mention how many games do you know of actually support 32:9 aspect ration compared to 21:9? I also much prefer refresh rate over resolution but would still take the Acer.
