Are you planning on building it or having it custom made for you? If you don't think it will be to difficult for you, you could save A LOT of money by building it yourself. As far as your build. Your going overboard on your ram. I would say the max you need is 8 gigs.

The RAM you chose from my knowledge is better used with an intel board and cpu. Also I could not find that exact motherboard you picked but the ones I did see in that same brand and model type it is a cheap board. I would say you want to spent 150 - 200 on a really nice motherboard that supports USB 3.0, because in the near future most devices will be USB 3.0.

I have a USB 3.0 external and it is amazing. Well anyways I would say you wanna go all out on your Motherboard that it allows you to have the computer for a while; only making simple add ons to keep it up to date.

I also noticed you forgot about a PSU (Power Supply Unit). That is another think you don't want to skimp out on. Typically most custom built computers it is the first thing that goes. So you would want a warranty on it. But on top of that I would say get a name brand one that has 1000 + Watts.

At the moment I think this is the best advice I can give you unless you want me to go into more detail about certain things or even help pick out some parts.

Oh and one last tip, do without the 2tb hard drive if you have a tight budget and put that money to a better motherboard or PSU.

Got a friend building it and yeah i thought it was abit to much ram also iv told him to cut it down to 8gb, like i said im going to be using it mostly to editing videos? I have no clue as to what exactly i need so if you could find some parts or what you would recommend me getting and not to expense it would be a great help.

Is 700 your budget line? Because it is going to be pretty hard to manage building a PC with that. Last time I checked the 5770 graphics card was 200 bucks. A good board would be 150 - 200. A decent case at least 50. PSU 80 - 100. Then if you don't have you peripherals a good moniter is 150 - 200. If you have an HD TV that isn't to big I would say just use that. But then you need the mouse and a keyboard and speakers. Then your hard drive which could run you 50 - 100 bucks depending on the size and quality. Then your processor is another 200 unless it went down in price from when I bought it. Compatible ram only 6gb would run you about 150 - 200 as well.

Then there is a whole bunch of little things you will also need. Like a wireless card, your disk drive and a hdmi cable..

If you are putting a Phenom in it, buy an ASUS board, I would suggest the Sabertooth and the AMD Phenom II is a great processor, my server is using a dual core Phenom II and it works great.

But if you want just a decent desktop, you can do it pretty cheap.

Things you'll need:

Board: ASUS M4A77T/USB 3.0
CPU: AMD Phenom II Dual Core 560 (just unlock the two extra cores)
Memory: Crucial 4gb DDR3
HDD: Western Digital 500gb (You will NEVER fill up 2TB, you wont even get close to filling 1TB! Don't waste the money on it.)
DVD/ROM: A LiteOn ihas will work fine
Graphics: Saphire Radeon HD4350
and for a case: iMicro IMJ227P with 400W PSU built in

all together this will cost you around $500 and should run fine

He is right the max you need is 8gb of ram. And you should just buy a blu-ray burner/writer so you can just have an all in one and you can do anything
