I've tried animation before but I didn't make the background and other layers the way I wanted before adding all the frames for the animation and screwed that up and I just never went back to trying it.

I can see why you say that, but is it better to be some what plain and still look decent or to be crowded and busy and look like crap? Either way, I'm still young at photoshop and still getting my grip I'll start doing more when I get more comfortable.
