it depends what kind of lite-on you have....try plugging it in and clicking dvdkey32, if that doesnt work then you will need the probe but it doesn have to be any preticular brand u can buy one off ebay alot cheaper

i have a 7k series drive, it has been flashed but i need to know if i can just use a probe without ck3 kit pro/lite, and/or if i can just take the firmware off the drive with the key in the firmware?

You can use the 360 itself to power on the dvd drive. You need to have the liteon's tray open halfway when flashing. You don't need to use the probe again, either. Only the first time you dump the firmware is when you use the probe. That's not good that your ck3 is on the fritz.

1. Hook up your dvd drive to sata from pc, but leave the power on the liteon on the 360.

2. Turn on 360.

3. Open tray, as it's opening shut of 360 and put a finger in the opened tray so it stays half open as the console shuts down.

4. Right-click on JungleFlasher and run JungleFlasher as Administrator

You know how to run the program, so you should be all set! Let me know if I helped at all and/or if you need more help
