**Ok This Post is Basically to inform Those Who dont know and are worried about getting the RROD. (Red Ring Of Death)**
Ok Here We Go.
- Try To have Your Most Played Games Installed To your HDD
As This Will Make It So The Disk Does Not Spin, And Will Lower the Vibration Rate Of the Console.
- Use Your Controller to Shut/Turn On Your Xbox more often
I know This sounds Weird But I have done this and it does help
- Keep Your Xbox OFF Of A Rug Or Floor, Make sure It Is On A Stand Or Something
When Its on A Rug The 360 Sucks Up A Lot Of dust and Will Eventually Give Out
- If Your Xbox Does get RROD DO NOT DO THE TOWEL TRICK!
It Is THE DUMBEST Thing You Could Do. Your Just OverHeating it To Fix It, This Will Make It WORSE And Will Completly Shut Down After 2 weeks
- Do NOT Use Fans / Cooling Accessories!
This Can Add Problems To The Console. And Make It Fail. IF You Use One And Get RROD, Unplug the Fan And wait 10 Minutes and Turn Back On WITHOUT THE FAN
- Do Not Open The Disk Tray When Playing a Game
Sounds Like Common Sense? Well Ive Seen People Do it Not Knowing What it can do to the console.
- Do Not Attempt Home Repairs to a Disk Drive Or Anything Else!
If You Have A Problem With Your 360 Then SEND IT TO MICROSOFT! I know it takes a while to get it back but it is much better then Messing up And ruining your 360, Because then you have Voided your warrenty And cannot send it in.
- Do Not Use Kinect on ANY Console under the year 2008 If you have one
There have been reports that you will eventually get RROD From It. So Do Not try it.
- Keep Your Xbox In Open Spaces, Do Not Keep it In Small Areas
This will help the circulation So that it Can Breathe Easier
How To prevent OverHeating
***The main reason for the Xbox 360 overheating is the fact that there is not enough room for air to flow inside the case, as well as insufficient cooling devices to cut down on the size of the console. Although this means that the Xbox 360 is more attractive and lighter, the problem of too much heat in too small of an area can lead to red ring of death problems eventually***
- Make Sure Your Console Is In A Cool Space
If it is stuck in a cramped part of your TV cupboard or in a warm/dry stuffy room This Could Cause OverHeating
- If Your Console Becomes Very hot While Playing, Power Off
Excessive gaming while an Xbox 360 is overheating is one of the major contributing factors to the high incidence of the red ring of death
- Use air-conditioning, or get a mounted fan to blow cool air over it.
This prevents a build-up of hot air around the vents, which is what causes over-heating.
- Keep it free from any dust build-up!
Dust can prove to be an insulator if there is enough of it so it is a good idea to regularly clean the dust out of the side vents using a hoover.
***I Will Keep Updating As I Find More InforMation***

Yes if you do it too often, It can start freezing the console and then it will just go downhill. Either that or you will mess up your DVD Drive

Yes but then if its standing up, theres a better chance of it scratching the living hell out of your disk
