If you're going for the 3d feel that i can tell with the gradient and the lens flare, you should include a contoured edge to give it a pop.

This is too condensed. You are trying to cram the "Blackhawk" into the B. The B can be bigger as you have alot of extra room in the circle, and if you make the B bigger you won't have to cram the "blackhawk"

not too bad though

Do not do animation, do what YOU want.
It's your logo, not theres.
Design it what fits YOU best.
