Yes just black and just says " SCART - No Signal "[/quoteon the AV Cable if you have a newer one there will eb a switch on the tip that saws HD/TV or something like that
if you dont have the HD ones plugged it switch it to TV. and if you have the HD Plugged in change it to TV
this is what happens with mine sometimes and I jsut need to remember to change to TV
