What the hell? Never happened to me.. That's strange, have you tried reseting your computer? Maybe it's just a glitch.

if the update messed it up go onto device manager and undo the update,
or another way would be to go on to windows update, recent updates and go back to the restore point the update made ;)

Try changing desktop resolution, and make the desktop icons smaller
