This is a tutorial on how to set up your Dazzle DVC 100, for recording consoles.
Dazzles will record anything but to get a good quality you must try. If you get some good settings like me, you will be near enough HD, but not as detailed and "HD" as a PVR. Dazzles are a good starting capture card.

Dazzles will record anything but to get a good quality you must try. If you get some good settings like me, you will be near enough HD, but not as detailed and "HD" as a PVR. Dazzles are a good starting capture card.
Things you need are...
- A Dazzle Recorder (DVC 100+)
- 3 Female to Female RCA Splitters
- A Double Sided Composite (Yellow, Red, White) Cable
- Games console, obviously and the scart/composite lead for the console
- Television
- PC/Laptop
Firstly you need to set up the exterior.

This is a tutorial on how to set up your HD PVR to record console gameplay.
HD PVR's will record 720p/1080i with the right settings without any hassle and attempt. These are made to record HD and are the most expensive you can buy. Be sure to buy the latest model when buying a HD PVR.
- A Dazzle Recorder (DVC 100+)
- 3 Female to Female RCA Splitters
- A Double Sided Composite (Yellow, Red, White) Cable
- Games console, obviously and the scart/composite lead for the console
- Television
- PC/Laptop
Firstly you need to set up the exterior.

1) Take the double sided composite cable and plug on end of each colour into one of the available 2 holes on the splitter. SO plug the white plug on the cable into one of the splitters and plug the yellow cable into another splitter e.t.c until you have this:

2) Now get the console composite cable and match up the colours to the double ended cable. So in the splitter with the red double sided composite cable in, plug the red console cable in the other available hole on the splitter e.t.c until you have this:

3) Get the other end of the double sided composite cable and plug the coloured plugs into the Dazzle's front. So plug the red plug into the red socket on the Dazzle e.t.c until you have this:

4) Now plug the end of the cables with splitters on into the television. So plug the splitter that has the red plugs in, into the red socket on the television. If you alternatively want to use a scart to composite converter (You normally get these with your console) just plug the splitters into the right socket on the scart converter and then plug the scart into your television.

5) Plug the USB cable from the Dazzle into your PC/Laptop, and install driver software if needed. After plugging Dazzle in, you should get a green display light on the Dazzle itself (See picture 2).

Find Pinnacle Instant DVD Recorder [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Find AmCap [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (DOWNLOAD TRIAL VERSION!)
Just mount the .ISO file for the Pinnacle software to your computer HDD (C using either Windows Image Burner or Daemon Tools lite.
Virus Scan:

2) Make sure the "Device" is set to Dazzle DVC 100, the "Destination" is set to a folder where you have access to and the "Quality" is on Best.

3) Click the options button next to the "Device" and make sure if you are Europe, your settings are as follows:

Or If your U.S.A/Elsewhere yours are as follows:

4) Now power up your console. As you can see, you will get a black and white preview:

Minimize the Pinnacle software and open AmCap. You will get an error message, just click ok. Now you should see this:

Now if you check back to the Pinnacle software, the preview with now be colour:

5) Now if you press start recording, the preview will turn black and white again.

Now, leave it recording and go to AmCap again. Go to Options then Video Capture Filter. You will now see this:

From the drop down box, select SECAM_B and press ok.
Now if you look back at the Pinnacle Software, it will be recording in colour now.

Then after recording, you will have a folder wherever you set the destination to called VIDEO_TS:

Open that folder and the video file will be called: VTS_01_1.
Then open Sony Vegas if you have it and render it in HD, and remove the aspect ratio.

1) Plug the console component cable into the PVR's back. Plug the red video, blue and green inside the plugs in the red shaded area of the picture below and plug the audio cables into the green shaded area of the picture below.

2) Now plug the other end of the console composite cable into the consoles back.

3) Get the double sided composite that came with the PVR and do exactly the same as in the last step but in these places:

4) Plug the other end of the double sided composite into your TV. If you dont have the green and blue holes, buy a converter or scart plug that fits your TV.

5) Run the USB cable and plug the PVR end into the rear of the PVR in its slot and the USB end into your computer/laptop. Also, plug the 5V power supply in and plug the PVR in.
Now you should have the blue light on the front of the PVR.

For Mac users use PVR capture as now there is a Mac option.

Follow the onscreen wizard instructions.
Now hit record and record your gameplay!

EasyCap's will record any game PAL-60+ in fair quality if you edit settings and get the right kind of EasyCap. Watch out for fakes, always check the product breif and make sure its a DC60+ and records PAL-60 otherwise you will be unable to record games like Call of Duty.

2) In AmCap go to the devices tab and on there select for video devices, select USB 2.0/3.0 Capturing Device. This is your EasyCap. Make sure the USN is inserted properly and your console is on.
Now you should have your full colour image, if not, you have a fake or DC60 which will not record PAL-60 in colour. To change your PAL settings, go to your consoles system settings, and change the PAL.
