Well the true theory is that, no one knows.

There is a topic posted as a sticky up top, on the first page.

All the theorys are posted there,

Many think it could be a site update, new rebooter, and maybe the release to fortress craft, TTG Sean facepalmed both of the rebooter and Fortress Craft suggestion, so I highly doubt those 2 are in the mix anymore.
