By far the 90s.
In the early 1990's, grunge was the biggest music genre and still the absolute best to this day.
Grunge features bands like Nirvana, Sound Garden, The Melvins, The Meat Puppets, Alice in Chains, etc.
Ever since the 2000's, music has really died.

60's and 70's are where it's at.
Beatles, Zeppelin, Rush, GnR, Queen, Boston, etc.
The 90's were also pretty cool. With Third Eye Blind, Oasis, Nirvana, Sublime, etc.

60s 70s 80s 90s and some early 2000s. 60s had The Doors the small faces. 70s had Black Sabbath, Sir Lord Baltimore, Led Zeppelin. 80s had A LOT OF GOOD FCKN PUNK. 90s had modest mouse and white stripes released their first album in 99 . 2000s had the strokes.
