This patch overhauls Final Fantasy I: Dawn of Souls to use a Vancian spellcasting system in place of MP. Many routines and data structures have been modified for this purpose, and several new ones introduced. It functions much like the NES version’s spell charge system but is more flexible.
The game is fully playable as-is, but has received almost no rebalancing; this patch is intended as a base for others to make complete FF1 hacks. Included in the download are technical information and the complete source of the patch changes to facilitate this.
