Collected 700 types of Digimon medals.
LOAD SAVE FILE #3, Press X as soon you gain control and select digital space 2, then pres SQUARE and select FUNCTION CALL option to force an encounter.. keep doing this until the digimon COELAMON appears defeat it until you get the medal and the trophy is yours.

This file works exactly how OP stated, the drop rate for the Coelamon Medal isn't super high so patience is needed. You can also get Butterfly's Dream trophy with the 3rd save if you digivolve Wormmon into Hudiemon
