A quick fix update for neur0n's Custom Firmware 6.39 ME (Minimum Edition) is out today, that resolves the bug freeze issue from the previous release. Just like the previous release, this one only works for PSP-1000 and PSP-2000.Changelog:

Fixed freeze bug when try to connect to PSN.

Developer's note:This is CFW work on PSP1000 and PSP2000.The degree of stability is still unknown. Please test it on your own and refer to different people's test reports.

To install the custom firmware, first, you need to install CFW or HEN in your PSP:

copy UPDATE folder at ms0:/PSP/GAME/.
Put 6.39 official update at ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/639.PBP .
Run installer from xmb.
