Post pictures of your computer setup. Rate and be rated!

How to make your pictures not suck:
  • Use as much natural light as possible.
  • Use a tripod or any stable surface instead of your hand.
  • Use the timed shot feature so the picture takes when you're not holding the camera.
  • Don't use flash. If you're going to use a light, make it a reflection.
  • Clean up your mess.

All of old post is in spoiler again and missed some updates between then and now.

I'll make a proper post again once I've done changing everything around with my rig.

Desk has changed rig has changed blah blah.

Current spec:

i5 2500k @ 4GHz
Asus P8Z77-M PRO
Phanteks PH-TC14PE (black and white one) Sold

8GB RAM
60GB Kingston V300 boot drive
1TB Hitachi storage drive
OCZ ZS 550w PSU
Case is irrelevant as it's definitely not here to stay

Corsair Obsidian 350D is on its way, so that'll be the next update. Plenty of pictures coming up. Stay tuned.

Pentium and Z97 is rip. Sandy Bridge i5 is here.

24/04/2015
Lets restructure the post and start all over again! yay!

Gigglehertz's Rig!!!111!11!11!

History of my rig:

I first built it back in July 2013. Since then it has undergone a lot of changes, the only original thing about the rig is the RAM. The rest has changed since then.

Pics of my rig today:

How my desk looks at the minute. It does look extremely FILTHY but it's fine. Camera quality is extremely bad.

Rig spec
Intel G3258 @ 3.2GHz
MSI Z97 G45 Gaming
Sapphire Radeon 270X Vapor-X OC Edition
8GB RAM
OCZ ZS 550w
1TB HDD
60GB Kingston V300 SSD
Fractcal Design Arc Midi R2

Plans
Well I've recently ordered a Fractal Design Arc Midi R2, so that'll be here soon. Looking into an aftermarket cooler but there's so many to choose from, I can't decide. Leaning towards a H100 but we'll see. That's pretty much it for now. On the extreme side I want to Xfire my 270X with another one but the chances of that happening are slim. I'll see you all back here when the Arc Midi arrives!

Arc Midi Arrived!

Had a few upgrades since my last visit here. Putting all the old stuff in a couple of spoilers to save clutter. Hopefully v3 will be a bit cleaner.

Current specs are as follows:

-Intel Pentium G3258 @3.2GHz
-MSI G45 Gaming Z97 LGA1150
-8GB RAM
-Sapphire Radeon 270X Vapor-X
-60GB Kingstom SSDNow V300 (boot drive)
-1TB Hitachi HDD pulled from another computer (games drive)
-OCZ ZS 550w
-Gigabyte GZG3+
-Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Peripherals:

-CM Storm Xornet
-Some HP keyboard, it works, can't complain.
-Trust Tytan 2.1 Speaker setup w/ subwoofer (brilliant)
-ViewSonic VX2270smh-LED 1080p 22" IPS (also brilliant)
-Turtle Beach x12 headset (Had them for nearly 2 years now and they've served me well.)

You can check the spoiler for case pics if you really want to see it. Here's a pic taken after the motherboard was installed

Motherboard pics:

I don't have any pictures of the CPU because I was in a hurry to get it installed and such. Since my last post here quite a bit has happened. I got rid of my Hyper 212 EVO, 320GB HDD, M5A99X EVO and FX6300. After selling all those I bought a Maximus Gene VI and a G3258. I was hoping for some rad overclocks with the board, but ofcourse it arrived broken. After waiting over a week for a refund I ordered the G45 Z97. It arrived the next day. I've only had it for a matter of hours and I love it already. Seriously. Buy one. Gonna be ordering a CPU cooler soon to get some phat overclocks with this G3258. Many of you may be thinking "hmm.. what's he doing with a pentium?" Well let me tell you. The G3258 is ofcourse an Intel CPU which is unlocked.. and it costs 50 quid!! Can't go wrong with that.

Future plans for the rig, they're quite ambitious but I reckon it can be done.

-Dual tower CPU cooler for some PHAT overclocks
-Plastidip the GPU shroud to white (more on this in a bit)
-NZXT H440
-Maybe Crossfire, we'll see how it goes
-A new keyboard which isn't really needed atm.

My aim is to make my rig fully black and white. A tuxedo rig. I plan to plastidip the shroud of the GPU to make the GPU black and white, as the fans and PCB are already black. The H440 is also black and white, as is the Phanteks cooler I have my eye on (PH-TC14PE). I could then look into making the red accents on my motherboard white, by plastidipping them ofcourse. This is all just ideas but it may happen. If you have any questions about my build don't be afraid to ask!

Stay tuned!

Bro's PC:
http://i.gyazo.com/2cac348576c422de0b4da4dbd9a9e15a.png

His specs are as follows:

AMD FX6300 @3.5GHz
Gigabyte GA 78LMT USB3 (my old motherboard)
4GB Corsair XMS3 RAM
500GB WD Caviar Green HDD
320GB WD HDD (my old HDD)
Gigabyte GTS 450 (my old GPU)
Storm Silent 500w PSU (my old PSU)
Fractal Design Core 1000 (my old case)

It's a nice little PC and plays games well. His resolution is 1280x1024 so it doesn't stress the GTS 450 too much. Looks nice as well!

--UPDATE-- 27/11/13

The Zephyr RGH has been sold. So we can cross that off the list.

Motherboard will be changed to an ASUS M5A99X very soon and have a Hyper 212 EVO thrown over the CPU.

--UPDATE-- 30/11/13

ASUS M5A99X EVO has been installed successfully, along with the Hyper 212 EVO. There were a few problems during the process but were to be expected. The main problem was the Hyper, though. If you plan on buying one make sure you have plenty of patients when mounting it.

http://gyazo.com/36ae88647997334ac557d94ddb14f32d.png

lol dem cables!

Small update

Added more RAM (2GB), added another 120mm fan to the Hyper 212 EVO and sorted the cables out a bit. Also overclocked the CPU to 4.2GHz stable.

--UPDATE-- 25/12/2013
The Sapphire Radeon R9 Vapor-X 270X has been added. Brilliant card 10/10 would recommend. Will update with pictures soon.
http://gyazo.com/8a56029cc25f32f6a7e7cd06302353b2.png

The Xornet has also been ordered. So we can cross that off the list.

Pending Upgrades:
Sapphire Vapor-X 270X
1080p monitor/dual monitor setup
8GB RAM
Cooler Master Xornet
QuickFire TK Mechanical keyboard

Small update
Ordered a couple DVI cables and stole a monitor from downstairs, giving me a dual monitor set up.

Here's a bad picture for you to enjoy:

http://gyazo.com/85b411886e51ed62f769fff54f217797.png

8GB RAM has made the computer a whole lot better, compared to the 4GB I used to have anyway. The Xornet is just perfect. Good price good mouse, 10/10.

All I need now is a QuickFire TK...

Stay tuned!
