iBaby wrote Couldn't believe my eyes, Torres sending Pepe for a taxi home!

I just think he was mi sued at chelsea, at liverpool/athletico he was at his prime because we played a style to suit him.

This is where iget annoyed , As i said i hope he does come back to what he was like at liverpool , But to say we misused him or blame us for "Ruining him/his career" is BS

We did EVERYTHING to bring him back to form - We sacked managers because they werent playing him , Brought in managers just to suit him (Rafa) we put off a lot of signings (STs) to try and make torres come good , We sold Daniel sturridge to give him more confidence and to ensure him he was NO.1.We brought in more creativity to accomadate for him (Mata at the time)

Then he went to Milan , He did awefull there too so if he comes back to form for Athletico (Which lets be honest is a big IF) then its down to him - He prefers to play at a club he loves (Athletico / liverpool) but to say we ruined him or anything simular is just BS imo.

Also another thing that shows it wasent us , He got the ball alot - Look up his worst fails on YT for CFC , They were always when he got the ball - No amount of mismanagement or whatever makes you miss open goals , Makes you fall over the ball , Makes you run straight into a defender etc.

I don't blame chelsea for ruining his career, I just feel in some ways he was mi sued : He was never happy either which may of played a part. Fair point though you have made, It may just be down to him that because hes not at a club he loves he may just not put his desire and willingness into the football club.

Ok thats fair enough you think he was misused - Give examples , Ive given examples of how we tried to get him to regain form , But i cant argue your points if you dont have any specific points.

On Hary kane - I think he is overrated (And this is coming from a CFC fan - He destroyed us) , But can anyone see him being a 20+ goal a season ST? As long as he keeps his current form he will be a perfetly capable backup ST - Either playing as a 2 (With a better ST) or just being a second choice ST (As drogba is for us)

He will also be ok for the "Lesser teams" , Someone like crystal palace for example it just depends on whether spurs want to be classed as the "Lesser teams".If they want to be challenging for champions leauge , They want to be challenging in the champs leauge is Harry kane good enough? , Nope.

Okay maybe 'Mis-used' was a phrase I shouldn't of used as it's discussed like I thought chelsea made torres a bad player.. I am clearly not stating that, what I am saying is at athletico in his teen days if you call them that he was unstoppable and at liverpool linking up with stevie G again a quality player, But after his 50 Million pound move which as a liverpool fan I was dissapointed to see him go he did may things

1 - Did not produce in any shape or form (Missed open goals/chances, etc)
2 - I didn't think he got the service gerrard gave him, Although you can say you had lampard (No disrespect intended) He or any other player did not give him what gerrard did, Gerrard would look up 40/50 yards away and find torres & I think when torres was scoring so much back then it give him the upmost confidence, Torres always said 'Athletico as hid boyhood club' and he would kiss the badge, well when he come to liverpool he was welcomed by the fans/players and I think he got that home of liverpool like athletico
3 - If he wern't scoring at chelsea he was obviously unhappy, and even when he did score it just didn't look inspirational, he didnt celebrate like a striker should do.
4 - The weight and expectations were far too much

YES I can agree though you did make some specific changes to try and make torres work, Like bringing rafa to chelsea but If you run a club would you start to bring managers in to make 'ONE' player in the team happy, well I don't think I would, selling sturridge did no good apart from make him better at LFC?

You do make some good valid points & TBH I have seen the videos, torres was supplied and he did make a mess of it at times but I feel the pressure he was under with the amount chelsea played for him and expectation's in the PL were far too much on his shoulders.

Maybe it was more Just torres self belief himself at chelsea to do good or maybe he just did not enjoy chelsea's style of play, I don't know tbh, it is a MASSIVE if that he will come good at athletico but I've got a sneaky feeling he will, Not entirely based on his performance against hala madrid.

This was month's ago but it's not just me who thought it - givemesport.com/502470-chelsea-ac...ilan-coach

Im not agreeing or reading the article because its from the AC milan coach , Who couldent revive Torres form therefore who is he to judge our use of the player , He couldent use either?

If torres bangs in 15+ goals for athletico and he is on good form and Simeone says "CFC + Milan misuesed Torres - I would be highly interested in reading about that"

Right on your points , You make the points but tbh you kind of agree with me - Point NO.1 suggests a fault on his part and not on CFCs part

Then you make point 2 - No one was doing what gerrard did - But then later on you said "If your a manager would you change something just for 1 player" , But your suggesting we should of either got one of our players to change or buy another player who could do what gerrard did?

Mata was amazing - Getting an insane amount of assists - Yes he wasent the type of player Gerrard was but he got oppurtinitys

Point no 3 again suggests HE wasent happy , Thats not a problem with us though? - We did everything (Brining in a manager , Sacking managers who didnt use torres ec - We made him the main man , The fans loved him when he first came here) any unhappinies was on his fault.

The weight and exectations were too high - I agree but thats not CFCs or Torres fault - Thats down to the media and transfer fee.

He wouldn't of gone to Chelsea if he wasn't happy going there, so that just leaves it down to CFC.
You can go from on top form in one club to poor form in another albeit he was injured when CFC signed him. But still if you're a world class player an Injury shouldn't stop your progression. We'll just have to wait and see how he does for Athletico.

Again give me reasons why you think its "Down to chelsea" as i said even if we mismanged him , Even if the fans hated him etc - A player doesent just start missing open nets , Running into players ,Falling over the ball (And yourself , And nothing) just because your mismanged - Look at for example Lampard , Terry and Drogba , They have been through the toughest times with this club - Where we have had some shit managers - But they have been brilliant -They have been mismanged , Booed (At england) etc and still perform - FL only player to score 10 goals consistently from midfield despite mismangement with AVB , Rafa etc.

Nathaniel Clyne, Seamus Coleman and Dani Alves all linked to the reds.

Would go for Clyne and Alves in the summer, plainly cause Clyne will be cheaper than coleman and Alves is free, experienced and one of the better defenders available. I know he's no where near what he used to be but still better than Valencia/Rafael.

Also seeing more and more regarding the PSG centre back Marquinhos coming in, good young talent and would be cheaper than Varane and Hummels, but we lack a leader at the back. Hummels/Shawcross and Varane/Marquinhos

I wouldn't bother with Alves. Huge wages and dodgy defensively. I guess there's a gain from his experience but not enough to convince me he's a worthwhile purchase

Yep wouldent be interested in him either - Always thought he would be exposed out of the Barca team , Remember watching a brazil game and being amazed after watching his positioning and seeing him play as a RW while brazil struggled to defend...

He'd get what he was given, only team willing to pay such big wages for him would be City/PSG, can't see us offering more than 120k per week. Clyne looks really promising though, would really love him at United.

Thats not the case though is it? , The thing about clyne is yes he has potential and yes he is decent right now but the thing is you need players now , Not in a few years , you need to be signing players 21-25 with a little potential / but a good player right now.

Because of the situation your in id probbally go for coleman (Out of the 3 being linked) , If you had top 4 secured then id go for clyne.

Yes, cause if he refused it then the club wouldn't sign him. United are just as much a business as a football club and I'm fairly certain they won't pay a 31Y/O RB over 120k per week. In any case, Clyne has been solid this season.

I like how many English players are breaking through in the premier league this season, really is great to see.

To be honest, United were willing to pay Falcao 260k a week (a striker who'd just come back from a cruciate ligament injury)..

The old United wouldn't pay that. No, you're correct! But with the current United system, I wouldn't put it past them.

Apparently we have another 150mil to splash, we have been spending big recently but I hate it when people compare us to what City did. We're trying to rebuild a squad which was world class not long ago, City Brought in Sheikh money and completely replaced their mid-table squad to a world class squad. I'm glad there's the FFP now as football was turning into a billionaires way to show off their wealth.
