I agree. It's insolent behaviour like that, that has no place in any modern sport. He needs to grow up, people idolise him. He should start acting like a professional athlete, not an animal.

You guys are idiots , He doesent choose to be this type of person , Thats who he is , Changing that IS changing him . You take that out of him , And he is no longer diego costa - Thats how he was raised - He was bullied and it was either be aggresive , Or be bullied.

When you grow up with that , Its hard to just "Switch it off" , In general this aggresiveness he has fine , Every now and then he steps over the line.

But vertonghen does alot of the same stuff Costa does , Lots of players push and shove players , Square up to them etc and nothing is being said.

That's like saying "I don't mean to be racist" or "I didn't mean to hit my wife" he is so aggressive because he chooses to be. He is still Diego Costa. He is only less aggressive, which is good. He's no longer bullied, no point upholding the insolent behavoiour.

It's not hard to switch off, I was bullied throughout primary school. I'm not reckless and aggressive.

Were you in a position where you were phyiscally abbused when you played sport? , When you were getting bullied aswell - You knew that wasent the "Norm" - Where he lived - Fighting etc was the norm.

Thats like saying , Taking out Xavis good passes and Xavi is still Xavi - He is known for his great passing.

Like Ramieres is known for his pace , Azpi for his great defending / stability , Fabregas for his assissts - Costa for his aggresiveness.

One stamp , You cant tell if it was intentional (Looking at the ball) , The sktrl one was unavoidable , The Marquionos incident was the only one i would say there was any wrongdoing on Costas part.

Dont know about you though , But i have played football and been pushed and pushed people while playing , Some people are just pussys and act like a push is going to kill him.

I think people need to appreciate the distinction between acceptable and non-acceptable aggression. I've played CB against strikers a few years older and significantly taller than me. It always includes a few elbows, some dodgy challenges and off-the-ball drama and I thoroughly enjoy it. I got instructed to go in as hard as possible with my first challenge to scare the striker in to moving position (works more than it probably should).

That level is acceptable (imo).

The problem is when this becomes needless aggression (e.g. Costa last night pushing a defender down after the ref turned his back. He was on a yellow and could have brought us down to 10 men.. why? Because he can't comtrol himself). Defenders are learning to piss him off and he's going to keep picking up (and eventually suspensions) unless he sorts himself out.

That said, Verrati needs to calm down. As does Wilshere (hate him with a passion), Vertonghen, etc. It's certainly not an issue specific to Costa but because the game just happened and football fans often have a collective hatred for Chelsea, he's talked about and the others aren't.

Yeah... I had my legged literally snapped in half playing rugby, I had to retire at 17. Google open fractures, that's what happened to me.

Its not just because the game just happened though - The two times vertonghen has done something recently , No one has mentioned it , Ive waited a while and only after ive commented on it (Like a day or two after) will people comment on it - And theyll shrug it off.

Its because he is good , Vertonghen isnt banging in goals and isnt being talked about , Who cares about talking about wilshire? , No one cares about verrati either.

Costa - Plays for the best team in the leauge . Banging in goals and is a constant headline grabber (Wethor it be goals or aggresiveness)

He should take it as a compliment as it shows he (And CFC) are relevant.

If we were sitting mid table , Costa doing average performances , No one would care about being aggresive.

Well you ovbiosuly didnt get accustomed to the aggressive nature like costa did then , He was used to it by the time he was 10 , Let alone 17.
